How do you come up with these ideas?

I started by drawing one mushroom once. Then a couple more. Then for the next I started to add some insects flying around to set the mood, and the tracing they'd leave in the air. From these I made other kinds of curvy shapes all over. Then I gave them eyes. And then they acquired a soul.
